The genres of music can be split into rock and classical. All other forms of music, whether it be jazz, reggae, pop, metal, hip hop , or rap can be grouped into one of there two broad genres. Rock, or more popularly referred to as rock n roll, is the new baby of music. People have taken a liking to rock music like a duck takes to water. The music teachers that teach rock music are many, all over the world.

The most frequently taught instruments are the guitar, in all its versions. This means the classical acoustic guitar, the electric guitar, the bass guitar, and also the 12 and 18 stringed guitars. The maximum number of youths all over the world wants to learn to play the guitar; such has been the influence of rock music.

Another more popular rock musical instrument that is taught is the drums. Again, a set of drums is considered an indispensable part of any rock band. There are professionals who teach people to play the drums.
Most music teachers for rock music have been, or are part of some rock n roll band or the other. They look up to the greats such as Iron Maiden, Jimi Hendrix et al, and pass on their knowledge to the students under their tutelage.

The music teachers for rock music, unlike those for classical music, are mostly private. They are not employed by any school or institution as such, and almost always operate from home. They conduct classes at their residence, or book a hall if the class size is more. Generally, they entertain only about 2 or 3 people at a time, and the size is increased considering some unavoidable circumstances.

The growing popularity of rock music means that there will be an ever increasing demand for music teachers for rock music. The demand is being met appropriately as of now, and the boom is surely set to continue in future.
