Desert National Park

The Desert National Park is situated 40 kilometer far from jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Desert National Park is one of the largest national parks in India which is covering about 3100 sq. kilometer area. The Desert National Park is a suitable place for watching and photographing the activities of the different animals. The Desert National Park is also very rich in reptiles. There are many Desert fox, Bengal fox, wolf, desert cat, piny tail lizard, monitor lizard, saw sealed viper, Russel’s viper, great Indian Bustard, Sind krait, toad agama, blackbuck, chinkara, wolf, Indian fox, desert cat and sandfish. Birds such as the sand grouse, partridges, bee-eaters, larks and shrikes are commonly seen in Desert National Park.

Birds like green bee-eaters, drongos, bush quail and Indian rollers are found around water holes. Short- toed eagles, tawny eagles, spotted eagles, lager falcons and kestrels also can be seen there in the Desert National park. This park is also a very suitable place to view the chinkara. we can see many eagles, harriers, falcons, buzzards, kestrel and vultures also.
